JP Russ & Son, Inc. was founded in 1947 by Pearlie Russ, the grandfather of the current owner. He and his wife hauled fill dirt with a single-axel Studebaker dump truck, loaded by hand. Since then, company has expanded its services to include grading, excavation, land and lot clearing, water, sewer, and storm water work, concrete, asphalt, and repair to existing infrastructure. JP Russ & Son, Inc. now employs approximately 35 people and serves southeastern North Carolina. Their fleet includes over 75 pieces of heavy equipment and their crews have the capacity to complete any size job. JP Russ & Son, Inc. is a North Carolina licensed contractor for the construction of heavy highway projects as well as water & sewer installation.
